Plan was 602/6.2 in the fairing and BT's in lowers.
Got my lowers installed today, HATE the look. Don't like it at all on my bike, now for sale in the touring section!). I see pics all over and they look good but I guess the contrast cut front end on my bike fights with the lowers for looks. Dunno, I do know I don't like it!
So, back to the drawing board I go... I'm not sure what I'm going to do now. Maybe I'll follow T's route and do 6.5 lids... I don't know.
Mulling over the 7.7 inner fairing, just running the M770's and be done with it, maybe add some lids down the road.
So bummed right now... I really was looking forward to this setup :/

That sucks but agree with you about keeping the bike looking the way you want it as the highest priority.
Part of the process I guess. Thinking about changing my screen name to "u-turn" as I have done a whole bunch of those along the way trying to get this right for me.
Honestly, I'd cut them....then try sealing them up around the speaker.
I haven't measured what exactly fits in there. The standard shallow mounts that fit in the tourpak pods would be a good start, but if it were me...I'd have some PA type speakers with horns up top and something would low end down bottom and those normally tend to be a little deeper. Polks might work, they're light too since they're just mounted to the plastic.
If I had a RG, I'd have four speakers in my fairing, two in the slots, two in the inner facing in.
I've thought about this also, the problem on the new RG's is speaker pods and glove boxes are part of the bracing for the outer fairing. I'll need to fab up some mounts for the fairing if I take out the glove boxes (will need to be remove to have inner fairing speakers)
I'm going to talk to my local installer tomorrow and see if he has any ideas.
