Default Hidden Antenna ?

OK I'm looking for a good hidden antenna to go under a bat wing fairing on a 07. I know with my amp (pn4.1000) I will lose FM reception but still want to get a good antenna and maybe pick up a radio station every now and then, any recommendations?

It's kind of a crapshoot and really varies bike to bike. I had the boom hidden antenna on my 13 and it worked very well. For every guy that had good luck with them there are easily 5-10 other guys that will tell you they aren't worth a crap and didn't work on their bikes as well. I honestly don't think brand matters - they're all about the same so pick one and give it a shot.

If your amp is killing reception with the whip antenna, the hidden antenna probably is not going to help. Maybe there's a difference depending on where you live and the signal strength of stations in the area. I live in the sticks and some stations that came in great with the whip were only ok with the hidden and vice versa.

I am using the same amp and have faded fm reception. I was able to aquire some emi/rf shielding cable from work and I'm going to be doing some testing soon when I pull my fairing back off for my next adventure/add on. If it works I'll post my results.

HD's hidden antenna is OK...if I did it over, would consider J&M's over HD.

I just mounted the HD Boom hidden antenna and I truly am not happy with it, BUT, I love the look of the bike without it. I am willing to give up some reception for the look, I just use my phone and play Pandora or my CD.

I lost all FM reception with my class D amp, then helped another guy here on the forums install the same amp on his FLHX and his reception was good. Still can't figure out why, but with a Sony head unit with bluetooth I just stream any station I want. FWIW, this one worked fine until I swapped to the class D amp. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hidden-ANTEN...bTUpIQ&vxp=mtr

I did an altered version of this relocation using the stock antenna. Works great. Great reception and invisible. I turned my antenna bracket upside down rather than drilling and tapping a new hole. The antenna ends up inside the shock and inside the frame rather than along the outside like this members mod. Easy. Just route the antenna along the frame to the left of the battery and zip tie in place. Done except putting in the fender plug.

By the way. I tried several hidden fairing antennas on my last Ultra. None worked anywhere near as good as the simple relocation.
