Default Biketronics Line Leveler Help

My Hogtunes lids are finished with paint and will arrive this week and I'll begin my project (see below for list of items). However, I'm a little nervous as I'm a rookie at this. As I was sorting through my products last night, I created more questions than answers.

With the BT Line Levelers, I apparently need to buy two RCA cables (two male connectors on each end). How long should these be? The LL's will be in the fairing with the amp.

My LL's have two dials on them...one is gain and the other is HPF. Either way, I have no idea how to set these...do I need to?

2015 Street Glide Special
Kappa 6.5's (150 watts each)
Kappa 6x9's (220 watts each)
HT speaker lids
SS PN4.1000D amp
Two BT 355's Line Levelers

Thanks in advance!

The RCAs need to be no more than 18" and I would get them from an car audio shop as they will have the best quality. It may cost u an extra 3 bucks each for a total of about 7-10 bucks each but u would pay that in shipping so I would just pull the trigger if u want to get the install rolling.

As for the controls on the LLs, I would not jack with them at all since you have all of the tuning functionality on the amp itself. The folks that mess with those dials are usually guys with the BT4180 or BT2180 and are pre-programmed amps.
Just make certain that the HPF and the gain ***** on the LLs are in their default settings. If not it can really have an impact on your sound and if it is far enough off, no sound at all.
Should you not get the required gains and sound quality from the amp itself, I would call Bill for specific guidance and he has tested the LLs with damn near every amp on the market.

Hope this helps!!!

I adjusted the gains on the BT355's and am getting about 2.0 volts out before the amp. I then set my amp gains. This was with my TM400x4 and first with 602's and now with Titan II's.

Try it with the stock setting first. Like Tailwind said, make sure their all at default. There has been an issue with setting being off and sound will dramatically be affected by it.

If your not happy with stock, we can revisit setting and how I did mine

I'm not the OP, but I'd be interested to hear how you tuned the BT355. I found my sound to be missing some serious mids and lows. I tweaked one of the two HPF dials a hair and improved significantly, but it's still not sounding as good as i expected.

I haven't done anything with the HPF on the LL, all I did was up the output before it hit the amp.

Call Mike at BT. He was supposed to put out a BT HPF tutorial but has not yet. Very good info from him.
At some point he will realize that one tutorial publication will eliminate a ton of customer service phone duty.

+1
I was camping the last 4 days in an area that has no cell service, got back last night and was looking to see if he has posted a HPF tutorial wondering if I might have missed it. My front output still sounds terrible compared to the rear even after resetting the HU the way Mike suggested. If I can't get it right with the HPF I'm seriously thinking about pulling it and sending it to BT and see if they can figure out what's up with it.(I still have my 4.3 HU sitting in one of my garage cabinets)
