Hi everyone,
Quick question I hope someone can help with. Tried searching but didn't find the answer I'm looking for.
Today I installed my new BT 7.1 pros with the 2180 amp and line leveler. Also installed the 6.5 head unit with GPS. I need to go to the dealer to have them flash the new head unit to the bike but do I need them to do anything else? My buddy is a technician and he wasn't sure and said that sometimes they need to calibrate a new system to turn on/off amps.
Not sure what sled u have but the "flash" u are looking for is:
Amps = 0
Speakers = 4
Speakers = Fairing and Rear Pods
Essentially u r getting the stock Ultra flash. If u have a SG or RG this will enable fade control. Like D said, u may not need a flash with the BT LLs but if ur taking it into HD anyways, have them dial it in just in case. I flashed by SG to this set up above so really could not comment on what to expect first hand if u don't flash it.
My flash was free, but heard others paying as much as 35 clams for a 15 minute curb to curb process.
I only have the fairing speakers so should I still have him calibrate for 4 speakers?
Yes. Just in case you decide somewhere down the road to add something to the rear or even lowers. This way it's already done and you don't have to worry about it. I wish I would have done it this way to begin with, but I found a good dealer that had now flashed my radio 3 times for free.
