Default 2016 SGS 4 speaker system

Alright I have been reading many of the threads on audio and I have my amp choice narrowed down to either the BT4180 or the ARC 600.4. Speakers for the fairing I plan on using the Focal EC165SK. I have the Boom audio lids and these are what I am struggling with the most. I was first considering the Focal 570ac but I would like some input on weather it is worth the extra work and cost to mod the lids for 6x9's and what speakers may be a good choice? All input would be appreciated.

Modifying them isn't too bad. I'm running the Moto 692's, still getting them tuned in, but I'm sure you'll get a good response with what you're looking to spend and what you listen to the most. Here are some pics of the lid modification.

Matt are the surrounds on the 6x9 towards the insides of the bags touching? They look damn close.

My music choices are very diverse rap,80's metal, country, southern rock, alternative to name a few. I would like to keep the budget under $1300.00.

Nope. The adaptor is 3/4" thick total, the first 3/8" piece mounts up to the lid and has a cut out for the speaker surround. The second 3/8" piece connects to the first piece and the speaker connects to it. And transfer the lid hardware before mounting the adaptor and speaker, unless you want to remove everything and start over again like I did lol.

Also install the grills before adding the second piece, again found out the hard way.

I gotcha. They just looked like they may be touching from the way the pic looks.

I have the BT4180 with BT7P14 speakers in the fairing. Plan to install the same speakers in my bag lids as Matt this weekend (Moto 692s). I'll post my thoughts once they're in and I have the fader enabled by the dealer, hopefully tomorrow afternoon.

Make sure u take the time to adjust those gains to keep that speaker in its best possible SQ to Bass wheelhouse. It is a damn good speaker for bass and will also get loud as hell but if push the gains too hard u will loose the SQ. My gains are set at about 1 o'clock and think I'm getting the best of both worlds.

OK you have me leaning towards 6x9's in the lids. What differences can be heard between the moto 692's and the Hertz HCX 690's? Also as ease of installation and tuning which amp would you recommend. The BT4180 or the ARC 600.4?

As many mention here, it all depends on what u are looking for.
My goal has always been sound quality for the front stage then finish it off with some thump at the rear stage. I have Focals in fairing and lids (In this configuration both considered front stage) and put Moto 692 inside the bags (rear stage) mounted facing the wheel with grill holes drilled in the bag.
If ur not gonna go that far then I would choose the lid 6x9 that will get u the highest priority of your ears. Both are great speakers!!!! If you want a bit more SQ then the Hertz is the way to go. If u want more bass and deeper thump then Moto.

Since my priority is SQ and if I was only going to do fairing and lids I would lean a bit towards the Hertz.

Just sayin!!!
