Default Amp upgrade

Looking for an amp with better sq. I have found a couple candidates that fit my budget and potential needs. Input appreciated. http://zapco.com/zprodst2d.html

I've been hearing a lot about the Zapco's but I haven't heard one in person yet

Zed!!! Between those two the Zed. I've been drooling over the Zed Leviathan III for a while now. The other amp I keep going back to is the MMats 6150. Zapcos are solid amps, but I wouldn't put them in the same category as a Zed or MMats, or even Hertz and Audison when it comes to SQ.

The thing with sound quality amps and bikes is that most of them don't have the RMS really needed to be heard at the volumes we need at speed. The other side to that is how many 6.5 speakers are going to produce top tier sound quality with 150-200watts going thru them. That Zed while fantastic would probably sound much better parked than it would on the road. Similar to the Arc Mini 125.4

Another option could be JL 400/4 bridged, that thing sounds fantastic with tons of juice when bridged. But if you're really looking for SQ competition level audio then bridged might not be the solution either. I think either way, there's not much room to land on when trying to get SQ and SPL from just 2 speakers and enjoy them on the road.

Will it fit underneath your fairing?

I was thinking the zed bridged. I don't plan any bag speakers in any near future if ever. That would be 200 rms per side. I'm looking for the brightness I used to get from my a/b amp and components without the dull sound most class D put out. I'm chasing the dragon.

Damn I misread the bridged rating.

Yeah that Mikro 4 could be a winner bridged. The JL has that clean higher range crispness you are talking about too.

I don't know if the JL will be a easy fit. Zed although tad wider isn't as deep. Don't want to trim gauges if I don't have to.

Well I ordered the ZED. Steve Mantz who is "ZED" I guess doesn't make them anymore. He is too busy building amps for other companies and makes more doing that. I am looking forward to getting this and will post some updated info once received. Now I have to make a new mounting plate and figure out how to position it around my air line to my air ride pressure gauge. Oh and like most "ZED" amps it is supposedly close to 25% underrated!!!

The CDT ES60CV I currently have installed for now. With my current setup they perform fairly well at 80mph but hope to improve the sound quality with the better amp. They currently lack the warm natural sound they normally have. Just loud. Again I may be chasing the dragon. If I can save my pennies I will get some 7.1 pros some day or an equal performer.
