Default Fix FM reception issues with class "D" amp?

Buddy has a D2000 amp. He loves his radio. I told him before we upgraded that the reception would suffer. His ball and chain is disappointed. Is there a modification that can get it back. Power ant.? Anything? Thanks

Can't you just shield the amp? If the class D amp is causing the problem? Wrap it in lead or what ever.

People really still listen to FM? LOL. I have not read of a fix but I do know that it's hit or miss. I had an alpine 455UTP and didn't have issues with stock head unit. Now have a Sony head deck with a Soundstream PN4.1000D but have not tried listening to FM. I use bluetooth for Pandora or Spotify or a USB stick with all of my music.

I just wrapped up installing the xm module with my Kenwood HU, I can't stand commercials anyway.

I like having AM & FM.... listening to live news, talk shows, sports, etc. on the road makes the miles go by faster. Plus local traffic reports are a commute must around here.

A mod that I know works is get a different amp. If it is that important to them I'm afraid that is the only solution. But I could be wrong.
AAWAV did some bench tests on six amps. Here is his thread:

To see the FM reception results you have to go to the link he has at the bottom of post #1 and view the individual tests.
Hope this helps

Good advise. I am currently looking into shielding. Found it pretty cheap. Blocks EMI interference. What I struggle with now is. Shield the antenna coming from the HU? Or wrap the amp up with it????? Shielding that should work in flexible graphite foil or wrap. Graphite seems to be the stuff to use. Can get some from China off of Ebay for around $20
Flexible Graphite

One method I have had success with is making the power lines to the amp a "twisted pair". I ran them straight to the battery & twisted the neg and pos together all the way to the amp. It creates a shield of sorts to keep interference from migrating into the power leads.
