You're going to mount the HDP4 in one of the bags correct? Because it will not fit under the fairing.

I was planning to put in the Fairing as the dimensions are 6.73Dx11.18Lx1.83H going off of that looks like it should fit? Has anyone tried this amp for fitment?

With mods to the stock amp tray the SS PN4.1000D 4.75"W x 10.25"L x 1.50"H just barely fits. The amp just clears the fairing by about 1/4". With the JM amp tray it's a tight fit also. With the extra 2" depth I highly doubt the fairing will ever go back on. Here are some pics of the 1000D installed on the JM amp tray. As you can see it is a tight fit.

It has been stated by notching the gauges will allow the depth but width will be a challenge. The zapco I was looking at was a little over 6" depth. Didn't want to trim so went different route.

I've never see it done, but read where a guy not only trimmed the gauges rings, but the gauges themselves for the amp to fit. Maybe it's possible?

On a rushmore there's no way it will fit in the stock amp tray. All of the deeper amps that fit have the connections in the front, the HDP4 is on the sides.

Im interested how you like the Hertz 6x9's? I have the same amp, LL's, and 165KRC's. But I have the Focal 570's in the bags, Im not happy with the bass that I am getting. Wondering if I can get what I want from the Mille 690's.

Thanks

While 6X9's will provide more low end than 5X7's (most of the time) I don't think you'll find a huge difference by just swapping speakers. If your set up was producing more bass, your 5X7's would be distorting. Also, the Hertz speakers are warm sounding, but not real bass heavy speakers like the Arc Moto's for example. Also, the 4180 with no gains, and a built in filter combined with a line leveler that filters out frequencies to flatten the signal is just not going to give you a ton bass. You can try adjusting the HPF on the LL to see if it will pass thru more low end freqs without distortion, and like your other thread make sure you flash is correct.

I have the hcx 690s in the lids. Those did not give the bass I was looking for. I put a set of Moto 692s in the bags and that completed the bass sound I was after. IMO the hertz have more of a mid bass sound...not a low end bass. If that makes sense
