Looking to purchase a pair of Hertz HCX 165 for my 2015 RGS. I already have a Biketronics 4 ch amp and their line of speakers Titan 2's installed on my fairing. I do believe that the Titans efficiency is rated at 88... The Hertz are rated at 92.
I've been debating wether I should replaced my BT speakers for the Hertz on my fairing or just leave the BT speakers there and install the Hertz on the lower fairings. I've been told that the BT offer a better bass response than the Hertz due to their efficiency.
Since I'm no audio guru, I can't tell the difference because I don't know about all those technical terms I just want to have good music and enjoy it. So, I'm in the process of purchasing the Hertz HCX 165 but I need grills and speaker adapters, so where can I purchase the necessary items needed?

If you have the Titan II 6.5's in the fairing the HCX should slide right in.
What location are you looking for adapters and grills? Does the bike have lower on it now?

Lower fairings speaker pods.. I have the adapters that came in w the BT package deal but they were used on the setup. I'm purchasing a set of lower fairing and speaker pods and I'm going to be using speakers in that set up... So I need the grills, adapter plates, etc
They got it backwards. The HCX have much more bass and both are roughly the same sensitivity.
Ok, like I said prior I'm no expert. But I would like to maximize the sound quality. Will the Hertz sound better than the Titan 2's??? I want to experiment and see, I may end up replacing the Titan 2's w the Hertz line but in not sure if I would benefit greatly??! Thoughts?

If you go with the HD speaker boxes here are the parts you will need for the Rushmore lowers. NON WATER COOLED.
Or you can go with one piece speaker boxes from eBay for $60. You will need the CVO speaker grills PN: 76000065 $31 each. I'm not sure yet what grill screws you would need for these boxes.

Awesome, thanks for all the info~ Trullly appreciated~ Going to install these speakers on my fairing and see how they sound and compared them to the BT Tittan 2's. I may end up using the Titans on lower fairings and keeping these on my batwing.. But I need to verify how they sound first. Not sure about the ebay speaker pods, since these are aftermarket. Right now I have $782 on boardtrackers basket for the lowere fairings and speaker pods, color matched paint. Thats not including the additional items ouch, an expensive endevour for sure. Has anyone purchased aftermarket lower fairings and speaker pods and saved some $$$ and end up satisfied with the end result?

Do you have the BT speaker brackets under the fairing?
If you want the ability to Fade you will need a dealer flash, [Stock Ultra Flash, rear output and fade enabled, NO amp installed]. You will want to get another BT Line Leveler to be able to use the fade function. BT also has a nice wiring harness for connecting speakers in the lowers.

I ordered a full system minus the speakers for the lowers from BT, they sent me addtional line levelers due to the fact that they knew that my intentions were to have a full system, lowers, lids, etc.. But for now I'm just considering doing the lowers and not the lids, don't think its a worthwhile investment to do because at 80+mph you wont be able to hear the lids speakers~
