Default Help me help a friend.
A close friend has a 2002 Ultra Classic and wants to upgrade his stereo.

He has non-vented lowers and would like to add speakers in that location in addition to upgrading his fairing and tour pac speakers.

Thus far we have a Kenwood KDC X500 HU and a SS PN4.1000D.

I need input on speakers for the three locations and speaker boxes for the lowers budget is $600.

Talk to LL247 for your needs. On that budget with available power polk mm651 rear, and Hertz hcx165 up and low in parallel. That's a tight budget for 3 sets but achievable. With that head unit you have all the xovers you need and can really fine tune that system well.

Thanks Slye, if I need help tuning the HU I know who I'll be calling on.....

So no other input on speakers, Slye must have hit it outta the park with his picks.

What about speaker boxes for non-vented lowers, can I use the vented lower parts?

The speakers Slye suggested are a good bang for the buck.

Ebay has non vented lower fairing speaker boxes for 2004 and older Ultras.

Thanks Bert. The HCX 165's may be pushing the budget envelope a bit, still need to get a hold of Jason aka LL247 for pricing.

They will be well worth it. There's a pair for sale in the Audio Classifieds.
