Default Head unit?

Ok so a couple of questions here?

I currently have the Sony DSXS310BTX head unit. Some times when I hit bumps the HU will turn off, I can't find any loose wires. Could it be the BT retro kit causing the problem? It's an intermittent problem, sometimes it will go weeks without doing it and other times it will do it 5 times on a ride.

Also I'm looking at maybe switching to the kenwood 998 HU. Is it worth switching or is my current head unit just as good? Can you see the display on the 998 better then the Sony? Any info is greatly appreciated.

The speakers I have currently are BT 7.1(non pros), hog tunes lids with hertz mpx 6x9 on the way. And will prob end up putting arc moto 602's in the tour oak pods down the road, currently no pods on the tour pak

Also I already have the BT RETRO kit! What would I need to do to make the 998 work

As long as all the wiring check out, it could be that just over time vibration got to it. You may want to check with Bill at BT on the Retro kit. How long has it been in?

The X998 and the Sony MEX-M70BT are very good choices. Personally I choose the X998. If you do go with the X998 you want a solid mount such as the
Metra Kit Metra Kit
to hold the HU firmly in place and keep the face plate from moving around.
