Thinking of upgrading to Hogtunes 4 channel amp/speaker kit, hogtunes part# NCA 450U KIT-AA, on an 03 ultra with stock radio.
Any thoughts or reviews on this system or any other system?
you wont get the sound quality or the volume your expecting. listen to the experts here, when they recommend something, its been proven to work, on their own bike!! $ for $ what these guys recommend will blow any hogtune setup outta the water. post the year and make of your bike, your budget, and what kind of media you listen too. usb, cd, bluetooth. they will hook u up
That kit is about 700 bucks so with that amount of cash in your budget u should be able get a smoking custom system.
Start by making a piece meal list of items u will need starting with the amp then wiring kit, speaks front, and pods.
U will do very well if u create your own custom set up bro. The guys here will provide excellent assistance.

+1! Do your research and find a bike night around your area and go listen to different systems. My last bike, I went through several different set ups spending way tooo much coin. Tailwind is spot on and if you dont want to do the research, call Biketronics, they will have great products and with a wealth of knowledge and a great warranty.
Same here. I think you can do a whole lot better than Hogtunes. (Just to be clear, the only thing I know about stereos is how to turn up the volume & listen to them! This is just my opinion.) Hogtunes was my very 1st stereo upgrade when I bought my 1st Harley (EG Classic) in 09. Didn't take long for me to realize it wasn't that great. Then I heard about the Titan II 6.5 upgrade from Biketronics. THAT'S the way to go with what you want to spend. It's definitely a good one. I see there are packages where you can get the speakers & an amp for what you want to spend. Go for that one. You won't be disappointed, believe me. Plus, there used to be a lifetime guarantee on the speakers (maybe there still is) --- if you blow one up, they'll replace it for free. Can't go wrong with that. I spent a lot of money on a JL Audio system for mine, but if I ever went back to something else, I'd go back to Biketronics in a heartbeat.
Also, I was amazed at how much better quality I got when I replaced the stock Harmon Kardon head unit. I bought a $79 Sony DSX-S100 (mainly because it had a tune tray, and I could put my Ipod right inside it --- I'm all Ipod tunes), but it was such an improvement in the sound & quality. I recommend doing that too. That Sony is discontinued now, but they're still out there on Amazon, etc. I might have to replace mine, and I'm getting another one. Hey, $79 every 2 years for better quality?
Biketronics has the Hogtunes Tweeter Pod too. In my opinion, don't waste your money on it.
