Default Need some decision help here

I have been up and down the audio forum trying to decide where to go with my 2016 SGS speakers. I know I want my system to be easier to listen to and have a bit more clarity at higher speeds. I am looking for an AMP and speaker plug and play kit.

I have read more bad than good about Hogtunes, and have heard they distort at about 50%. So I have tossed those out.

My limit is about $800 and I can get the J&M ROKKER XXR EXTREME, or the J&M Performance for around that or less with the current sale.

Then, with Biketronics, I can't afford the Pro, but can afford the standard speakers with their 2 channel amp.

I read good and bad about all of these, and can't decide which way to go with it.

Go with the Biketronics two channel amp and a set of 7.1's for starters. I'm not gonna tell you to stay away from the JM and hog tunes stuff but you won't be a happy camper with that stuff. Purchase at your own risk! The BT amp is golden. You can always go Hertz, Focal or Moto if you don't like the 7.1's.

Sean, the Biketronics kit is far superior to HT's or JM.

With the Forum discount you will come in under budget with the Biketronics kit. This kit is plug & play and come with everything you need. A big plus that no one else offers are the speaker brackets that replace the stock pods. The amp is a high quality clean amp that is non adjustable. No gains to set. Biketronics offers excellent support and a lifetime warranty.

The only down side is you will want to use the HD software version 1.19.0 for the best sound quality along with there line levelers.

Thanks. does their kit (http://www.biketronics.com/2014-and-...421.1470153120) come with the line levelers? From the pictures, it looks like it does.

Thanks.. I can tell you their customer service is awesome. I gave them a call to ask a few questions. I emailed John and JM and i have to keep asking him the same questions. So that tells me to rule them out.

I purchased the biketronics kit with the titan II speakers. Found a few videos of 14 and 15 Street Glides on youtube with this system in it and decided based on your input and those videos to go with that. Plus they have the forum discount that they add to a vet discount.

Excellent choice.

If the kit hasn't shipped yet call and ask them to send and extra length of ground wire to reach the battery so the amp can be connected directly to + & - terminals of the battery.

The hardest part of the install is getting the stock speaker pods off. A ratchet with a long extension and swivel socket work well.

When installing the BT speaker brackets replace the four allen bolts with hex bolts, washers and lock washers. 1/4" x 1" should do. They are much easier to tighten.

You can also pickup some foam Backer Rod to fill the space between the speaker bracket and the inner fairing. See pics.

Thank you. I emailed them since they are closed. Where do you get the backer rod from. I really appreciate all your help!

Also what grills are those?

You mentioned the Titan II speakers. If you got the 6.5's swap those for the 7.1's.
