I'm headed down the path of "whats next" and need help from those who've been there. Current setup is BT 2180 and 4x BT 6.5" (upper and lower fairings). Was thinking of a few different options.
1) ditch the lowers and go with cvo lids and hertz 6x9's
2) Change all four front speakers from BT to hertz hcx or mille's
3) Hertz spl and mille tweeters (using a crossover)
I don't mind the BT speakers, but was looking to see what else is out there. I'm open to suggestions and advice, I'm still learning. be gentle....

What are you looking for in particular? Until a few years ago ,the BT 6.5's were Hertz hcx. May make sure you don't have those already.
I just picked this up in march so it's the hybrid audio speakers that BT uses now. I have no issues with them other than they sound too bright to me I guess. Lots of highs, clear as a bell, and even when I turn treble down it still sounds sharp. My thought with the 6x9's In the back was to add a little bass to the setup, but I've also heard once you're rolling you lose the rear speakers anyways.
I have speaker lids, 5x7 HAT's . If I'm riding by myself I can hear the lids, if the gf is with me her legs I believe are blocking them. She says that she hears them just fine even at 80.

Run the upper and lowers in parallel and add some bag lids. You will have the best of both worlds and the brightness will fall off some with the power split amongst the 4 on the front channel. That would make a nice setup for not a lot more.
Go with the lids but don't remove a platform if at all possible. More speaks is more better!!!!Hearing very good things about the Hertz Mille Pro 6x9s.

Other that having to buy another amp to replace my 2180, thats not a bad idea lol

I thought I read 4180. You could only do front with 2180. My bad. A 4180 would do the job well though. Keep current speakers, get the lids and 6x9 of tour choice, and have a killer setup
