Brief background, my bike is a 2016 Tri-glide. I mentioned to the wife I was planning on doing an audio up-grade over the winter and was going to spend a around $2000.00 to do a decent job. I had been in contact with another member here on the fourm and was starting to plan a system with their help. My issue is my wife was with me when I was checking out a few of the local car stereo shops to see what they had. My wife tells me on my birthday to get on the bike and follow her. We arrive at a local stereo shop and she has bought me a birthday present, she bought me a Rockford Fosgate power amplifier kit consisting of, HD14-TKIT and rear speakers T1650 plus paid for the install. Can't tell her no I have been planning on going another direction without hurting her feelings. So I pick up the bike the next day and she has a smile from ear to ear that says "I love you" and off we go. The system plays very loud going down the road, but just doesn't have the sound I am looking for. There is very little change in the bass adjustment and all I have is mostly mid and high frequencies. I can turn the volume up to the point that there is no more display showing on the radio. This is with the bass turned all the way up and the treble turned all the way down and no fade from front to rear. I realize that I can only get so much mid bass or bass punch with 6.5" speakers but was hoping to get a bit more lower end at least while sitting still. I am not knocking the Rockford stuff because it will scream going down the highway, it's just not what I would have chose if I was picking my system. So what I don't know are a few things; did the dealer possibly not do the correct radio flash (stock radio), is there anything else I can do to tune it, or perhaps something else I am overlooking. I could be nuts because the wife thought enough of me to surprise me with a new system and I want more. It would be rather difficult to yank out what has been done without hurting her, but I can add some other speakers in the lowers or do other things to improve the overall sound quality and not hurt her feelings. So I am looking for your thoughts or ideas to improve what I have, perhaps an equalizer, lower firing speakers even if it means adding another amplifier. I would greatly appreciate any thoughts or ideas to build on what I have, add to what I have, or just be happy that I have a wife that cares enough to do what she has done for me.
lower fairing speakers, PA, type will help with the front, some sort of dsp will also help. the RF speakers do get loud, but like you said, a little lacking in the low end. an additional amp and the dsp and lowers will help, but better speakers all around will really be the way to go, and she doesn't necessarily need to know about it as its happinging. if you want to add a sub in the trunk that would help but needs real thought before proceding.

Thank you for your thoughts, I have to agree that some different speakers would help a bunch. I have been looking at some lower fairing pods to put speakers in there but the only ones I have found that will work ( say they will work) are the Hog tunes pods and don't know what speakers would fit. I don't mind doing some modifications to the pods to work to get something in there and have been looking at what some of the other members have been doing. I have thought about finding some woofers that I could put in the lowers for bass only. I have not been able to find any specifications on the Hog tunes pods that give any information as to the depth, ect.
