Hi all. I have been reading all through the audio section and have learned so much about upgrading the Harley system. I have 16 Street Glide that I am anxious to tear into. Instead of asking what is better than what and can this work with that, Id simply like to know everyone's setup (amp, speakers, LL) and if you would recommend it. Thanks!
Focal KRC 165 speaker front/rear powered by an ARC xdi 600.4 amp, biketronics metal fairing speaker brackets, biketronics breakout harness and two of their line levelers, Soundz Customz wire harness on the output side (since the CVO Rushmore bikes needs a separate speaker output to connect from the new amp to the OEM amp harness and I already had it to use). Sounds freaking great at all speeds. Matter of fact I think it sounds better moving than standing still because the running bike powers the amp with a lot more juice!
Roadglide Ultra, Biketronics BT4180, 2 LL's, breakout harness for the rear speakers. Focal KRC 165 in fairing and Hertz HCX165's in the tour pak. Very pleased with this set up and would recommend it for sound quality that I was looking for. I'm sure many will chime in here and will tell you that it will depend on what type of music you listen to as it plays a huge roll in speaker choices.
I have the BT 4180 amp, LL x 2, Arc Moto 602's in the dash, and JL audio C5 570s in the bag lids, click on the link in my sig to hear it. (That is JUST bag lids and fairing. The Trunk speakers are not hooked up.)
2014 CVO Limited, Factory HU running to an Arc Audio PS8, connected to an Arc Audio XDI 1200.6 amp. PS8 and amp are installed in tour pack. Front fairing has Arc Audio Moto 6.2, tour pack has Polk MM651, and saddle back lids have the HAT 5x7 speakers.
Because for what you have in amps and a DSP there are significantly better speakers man. The last two channels on that amp are 300x2....which set of speakers are you pushing with that much juice? Also are you running Polks in the back because you didn't want to use a spacer? For not much (considering what you have cost some bucks) you can also get deeper pods made to fit a better speaker.
Your amp and DSP (to me) are as good as it gets. The speakers are just ok.
