Well I've been out riding so much I forgot to reply back with feedback and thanks. With the settings as per above, the sound and volume are very bloody good and I'm grateful for the help so thanks blokes.
I upgraded my stereo on my 2013 road glide custom. I used a Sony mex-m70bt hu, bt2180 amp and Arc 602 moto speakers in the fairing.
After reading reviews here I expected the sound to be good with high, distortion-free volume for 80mph speeds.
I not saying the system is bad but it's nowhere near as great as I expected. I run a Supertrapp Supermeg pipe which isn't too loud, a reasonably large 16 inch screen that stops wind above my ears and fairing lowers. I wear an open face helmet.
The hu settings for r&b sounds best in the garage and at low volume but causes distortion at high volume. Best settings re distortion are when the equaliser is turned off altogether. I mainly listen to rock music.
I've tried inputs from blue tooth, usb, my android phone, my ipod and also original cds.
Unless there is something wrong it is underwhelming. I can hear it at 80mph but not loud and nothing like bleeding ears like some people suggest.
wow ....same setup as you except for not having any in lowers.... was so disappointed in it for the last two years .... just saw this post and re-adjusted everything ....night and day difference ..... thanks so much for the imfo
