Default overly complicated - need help

Hello from Big Sky Country

need help from the professionals here

historically have been running stock HU, arc 125.2 and 4 focal 165's, (dash and lowers) in my 12 cvo roadglide.

wanted lid speakers, so picked up a new arc 600.4 amp and sbates helped me out with a set of bt 6x9s for lids.

so installed the lids and speakers yesterday, ran wiring and changed out amps today. all went as planned on front, got wiring reattached, and speakers sound as good or better than before change set this front channel (channel 1 &2)

pulled the ipod adapter off the back of the HU and painstakingly installed the wires for rear speakers. plugged it back in and proceeded to run those wires to the rear channel (channel 3&4 )of the amp.

at this point, this is where i ran out of knowledge.

i have the rear speakers wired to the rear channel of the amp. i have this channel set for 4 ohms as the bt 6x9s say 4 ohms and they are the only thing on this channel (channel 3&4).

ipod is working, but the rear speakers aren't putting out great sound(i would say weak sound).

i can unhook one set of front speakers and hook the rear speakers in their place and the rear speakers sound great. so wiring to speakers is good.

Obviously im not cooking with gas here.

so im thinking, either my wiring from the HU to the amp for the rear speakers is the problem or i have to get the HU flashed for rear speakers or both or its something else or im just tired and confused by all the wires and did something really stupid.

either way, suggestions for troubleshooting are welcome.

The answer is that IF you have a Road Glide you need to flash the radio.. If you have the Ultra version then it should be flashed already.

There is no flash on a 12. Only 14 and up. Check and make sure the gains are set on channels 1-4.

Won't the dealer have to enable the rear speakers on the stock HU?

the HU does not have a fader, so isnt that what they will have to "flash', ie turn on" to make the rear speaker channel work or does it work just no fade control.

I've always been under the impression that the dealer has to enable the fader and rear speaker channels on the non ultra HU's.

i think the fader has to be turned on. on my other bike, iron cross did it when the HU was repaired. i believe this has got to be the issue as everything else is working.

thanks for all replys, i will update once i have the fader turned on. it will be about 2 weeks as im out of the country starting 9/5 till 9/15.
