Can you post a couple of pics on how the amp is wired and the amp settings?
i have a couple not so great pics of the install but none of the settings on the amp. gains are between 10-11, filters to all pass, input to 2 channel. wiring is 8ga straight to the battery, remote from the pa plug you described. both front speakers are plugged into the bt355. rca's from there to the input side of the amp. 10 ga speaker wire tied into the stock plugs from the b54
Well just wanted to thank everyone for all the help that was given. Finished up the install last night and everything works as designed. The hertz ended up inside the pods due to the tweeter/grill issue. I'm not sure what I did wrong but the results are less than stellar for sure. Volume is the same or possibly slightly less than the stock stuff. Sound is also not noticeably any better. The amp is bridged, switched to 2 channel input. I set the gain using a dmm to 28volts with the bike running on a 1000hz test tone. Not sure what else to do
Those speakers should be jumping out of the fairing at half volume Outkast!! Something is not right. The gains appear to be way too high with the amp bridged! Those gains should be very low with that much power going through the speakers. Can you walk us through your set up? Is the amp bridged correctly? What is the procedure you used to set the Vac? and exactly what Hertz speakers are these? I think there has been some confusion on if they are the Hertz HSK 165 or Hertz HSK 165XL?

well i believe it is bridged correctly. the leads were labeled on the b54 and i just connected to the marked ones. the speakers are the hcx165 you recommended earlier. i set the gain using a multimeter with the bike running. i started with the gain at zero (7 o'clock) and turned it up until the dmm read 28vac
Okay - I'm man enough to admit when I'm confused bro! I think I answer way too many PM's on a daily basis. lol For whatever reason I was thinking you had the Hertz HSK 165XL's which are 150 watts RMS. The HCX 165 are a different story. 100 watts RMS. Requires different strategy. Do you have another set of speakers on the bike? The best scenario now is to run those speakers in parallel with another set of 4 ohm speakers. That will give you 150 watts per speaker or sell me the 4 channel and you can buy the 2 channel version if you want to stay with a two channel set up! Apologies bro!

you can still run the 4 channel and just set the gains the power output you'd like.
Post pics of the wiring please. That amp bridged had a set of 6X9's screaming. Also, wonder how much having the speakers inside the pods is hurting you and if you porting those pods is a better option.

i only have the fairing speakers. i feel like im missing something because it doesn't sound much different than the stock stuff. so is the b54 bridged to the hcx165's the correct setup? or should i sell stuff and start over?

i drilled 12 1/2" holes in the pods because Gann suggested using the bt brackets but my cheap *** didn't want to spend the money

1. post a pic of the amp wiring and settings please.
2. I would do a system reset of your radio also
