For some better low frequency it sounds worth it. I did it on my '07 and it seemed to help but my new system is so much better than that one I just wondered if it would be worth it. If I do it I would look for the lightest available.

It is important for all to realize that weight in front of the steering neck does have an effect on handling, steering and stability. How much? Depends.

While poking around the Second Skin website I found that they have a kit for baggers that uses the standard Damplifier along with some dense foam that goes behind the speaker area of the outer fairing. The weight issue started me thinking that at twice the weight of the regular stuff that it made sense not to use the pro so I ordered the kit. It may amount to only a couple of pounds but it is not in a good area for added weight and i already have the xtra weight of all the equipment. I will post after I receive and install it.

As you can see there have been various results from those that have used sound deadner and polyfill. So I would suggest using neither to start with and see how it sounds. A lot depends on each particular setup and personal preference in sound. Either can be added later.

In my current setup I have speakers mounted in the pods fiberfill and holes drilled in the pods for porting. I am looking at sound deader because my new speakers will not fit in the pods without a lot of modification so I am going to the Biketronics brackets that eliminate the pods. If you intend to keep the pods i would not bother with the sound deadner.

Thanks for the tip Bert...was just wondering about the poly-fil myself.I DO NOT have any sound deadener, but DO have poly-fil. I will be taking the poly-fil out tomorrow when the doc clears me to start doing stuff again. Re-adjusting the gains and then will decide about using poly-fil again or trying sound deadener. (2012 SG with fairing only BT7.1 non-pro speaks/PA RZ4 2000D, Stock HU)

I have never used polyfill under the fairing. I have heard various results from this also.

I used the polyfil with my first system and again with the BT setup and noticed improvements. After installing the SecondSkin I noticed even more improvement. Have not tried the two together because I felt the polyfil wasn't needed anymore. YMMV

I'm with my Brotha Bates on this one. After Second Skin / Dynamat, the poly was no longer needed. I even had some foam speaker baffles that went on the shelf.
