Default AM plug noise

I have a 2016 limited and when I listen to a local am station I hear alternator or ignition noise. It increases and decreases with rpm. I took it to the dealer and they at first told me they could not duplicate it. I insisted and then they told me it did it on all the new bikes and it was normal. What the heck are we back in the 60s? Does any one else get this noise? Btw do they now charge you for items that should be warranted if they can not duplicate or say is normal, mine did?

Do you hear the same noise on FM or USB?

It sounds like your radio or antenna system has a bad ground. I would check, re-seat all of the connections. Radio noise is way out of the ability of the, standard HD mechanic.

If your only getting the noise on AM, then I suspect it's just a limitation of the audio system.

No one ever looks at grounds. Since it is a new bike I try to get them to fix things. I do keep in mind that part of the price that we pay I do demand that HD has qualified maintenance employees. I did learn this week that if they can not find it or a reason for it it then becomes a normal (they all do this) HD snag and we get charged for the time. My 2009 did not do this.

I was thinking ground also, but I would think it would effect FM also. I took the antenna's off as soon as I got the bike(s) as I do not listen to AM or FM.
