I'm about ready to do my first amp install on my bike and want to know if I should use the high level inputs since the amp came with the harness for it, or get the BT LL's. I have a 15 street glide with the 6.5 boom head unit and just picked up an ARC 600.4 .
What would be the better option, flash or LL? I can get my radio flashed for free
I would say that the LL is the better option mainly because of the plug and play harnesses and also the fact that the HD MOCO is starting to jam up some of the flash options that enable after market amps and speakers thus limiting your ability to manage the EQ curve via the flash strategy.
The biggest downfall for me was the loss of the fader when flashing, it just always bothered me even though I didn't use the fader. I knew though and that ate away at me lol
If I were doing it all again with the stock head unit, I'd bite the bullet and use a DSP but that's an expensive route. I'd only do that because I never tried one and I'd always be doubting my decision not to if I didn't try one
90% of people would be hard pressed to use a better solution other than the BT Line Levelers, they just work and are backed by one of the greatest customer service companies out there.
Thanks guys. Going to order the LL's today for starters. I read ARC will be putting out a new DSP in a month or so. I may check that and the JL unit out.
