Default Antenna modification

So, I'm sitting here(having a drink), thinking the 2010 Ultra I purchased has some long antenna's. Go to walk around the bike, walk into the antenna's first.

Can you just cut them down and put the caps on the end again???? Seems simple, there must be a reason not done. Would like to know.

Just get a pair of shorty antennas. They are available from H-D and other sources. One for the radio and one for cb.
