I have a '12 SG with a good amp, good speakers, iPod interface, etc. I love blasting the music while I ride.
My problem is the damn HK stereo unit keeps crapping out. Died yesterday out riding. This is the 3rd death!
I can take it back to the dealer, exchange, etc. I'm tired of screwing with it.
Suggestions on another brand that fits, looks good, and more dependable? At this point, I'm not worried about price. Just want to put a good unit in and enjoy.
You really should post this in the Audio section.
But, check out Biketronics. Lots of us use their products and love them. They're also a sponsor here.

The problem with the Audio section of the forum is that the more you read there, the further away from making a decision you will be. The stuff over there makes my head spin. Bike audio is a beast, off leash.
The Jensen Heavy Duty, $500 and the Aquatic, around $300 are you best bets, both are water PROOF and Bluetooth and interface with the handlebar controls. I have the Jensen, itborks great, my only complaint is that it's slow to respond to the handlebar controls.
Neither has automatic volume control.
Another route would be Iron Cross Audio, they refurbish your HK radio. I'd rather replace it and be able to stream Blue Tooth from my phone. here's the link. http://www.ironcrossaudio.com
I looked at the Audio forum. TOO TOO much detail. I'm not techy enough.
Just needed some brand name ideas.
