Bunker , Little after the fact, but did you ever try to swap baffles on the D&D? With D&D , and Vance and Hines, they do offer quiet baffles that still have decent bark, but really tame them down. Lose a tad of the top end and typically add bit of tq doing it.
I really like the Magna Flow's (Top Gunner) I put on my 16 Electra Glide. They are a 4 1/2 inch slip on with black end caps. They have a very deep rich sound. Not as aggressive as the pipes on my Dyna (03 FXDL) but a really nice exhaust note. Magna Flow is newer to the Harley exhaust world, but so far I'm impressed.
