Default Quick Speaker Question

I've read in this forum that the ARC Moto 602s are good for the tour pak pods and that the pioneer TS-6900 Pros are good for bag lids. Checking the specs on these I see that they have different sensitivities. My question is could they be used in parallel on the rear output of a BT 4180 amp?

Physically it won't hurt anything but I would strongly recommend not doing it. 88db for the 602s and 92db is just too big of a difference to work together with optimum performance.

Like I said, u could give it a shot but the 602s will never get what they need to perform when the 6900s are in their wheelhouse. With 2db difference is recommended so the speaks rise up together in unison. 0db is ideal.

Hell u might even try the other strategy. Since the Pioneer Pros are so damn loud, u might go with something like the Polk mm651 that has a 94db SPL thus it will rise up just a touch more as the volume is cranked.

The easy answer is the Moto 692, but i didn't like them in my lids. I think they make a good bass inside the bag 6x9.

I might try something like the Focal KRC in the tour pak with the Pioneer 6900 in the lids.

My top 3 6x9s are all 92+ so I'm not gonna be much help.

U could try the Moto 692 as those are in the 88 range but if u parallel those two ur gonna have raw power issues as they both love lots of juice.

One of the best damn other lid speaks out there, but not a 6x9, is the JL Audio C5 570 and is getting close at 90.5 SPL.

Depending on what sled ur running and if u have room under the hood u could just get an NVX MVP4 and run the lids off that and Moto 602 off 4180. That amp is über $150 and Pioneers $128.

The nice thing is that I haven't bought anything yet. I could easily go with 5x7 lids and use the C5 570 if they are really that good. I just read that the 6900s were one of the best.

So would I bridge the MVP4?

The 6900 are probably the best bang for the dollar 6x9 out there. Keep debating on gettinf a second set, but could be going a completely different route over the winter so I'll just keep switching back and forth between the Hertz MPX 690s and the Pioneer 6900s. The hertz have a slight edge in sound and clarity, but the pioneers definitely have better bass, but at cruising speeds is a toss up.

The speakers you are going to hear second to the fairing going down the road are the TP speakers. If you go the parallel route I would suggest the Pioneer Pros in the Lids and a pair of Hertz HCX 165's or Milli Pros in the TP pods. All three speaker have the same sensitivity rating of 92. The HCX would need a 1/2" spacer to fit. The Mille Pros would need the V-Twin Audio adapters which would work with the HCX speakers also and come with grills. What are you running for fairing speakers?

I would never ever run a 6x9 and a 6.5 in parallel.

Haven't made any final decisions yet but was thinking the BT 7.1s for the fairing
