Default Lower 6x9 or 6.5

I think I'm going crazy with this or bored.
Looking to compliment my front stage with some lowers or crash bar pods.
My initial thoughts were some 6.5 subs, but I have seen plenty advise against that idea. Thoughts of 6x9 because I'm hearing good things about the Pioneer Pros with possibly a CV B52.

Front stage = X998 HU
(4) Hertz MPX 165.3 PRO
SS PN4.1000d

I've been searching and reading but haven't found any new info.
Posts on this subject are two to three yrs. old.

Looking for thoughts, set-ups and recommended gear.

Thanks in advance

so you're looking for advice on Pioneer Pro in lowers?

subs are out unless you like to parking lot pimp in which case they are bad ***, just don't expect to hear anything past about 30 and for most of us that's a lot of bank that could be spent elsewhere.

Ericl on here has 6x9's in his fairing and bags, he might be able to help with the 6x9 aspect although he runs the audiofrog's in his fairing and hertz in his lids.
