Could not find much about them on here. Anyone using them? Good quality? I'm guessing that they screw on after removing glove box door assembly. No problem if I will need to paint them but may leave them black. Also will 6x9 kappas and grills fit ok in these pods. Thanks
6x9s would most likely be for speaker lids. The oval shape wouldn’t lend themselves well to fairing lowers. Most of the time fairing lowers would be 5.5” or 6.5” round speakers.
If you are seeing 6x9s for fairing lowers someone please post a link. I’d like to see them.
I know a few years ago UltraNuts used something like that and loved the sound, just couldn't deal with the way they looked. No clue what ones he tried.

Thanks Kris, that's what I was afraid of. I've made the order so I'm gonna try hard to like 'em. Maybe paint some ghost flames on them,, or something haa. Hope the sound will overcome the look.
Hi guys, I don't see there any one's replied to this in a month but figured I'd give my two cents. I took a swing and got the 6 by 9 lowers with the pods off eBay. I'm pretty much done with the install with the exception of some finish work.
I'm still not sure if I'm totally sold on them. I will say that install was kind of a pain in the *** because not everything lines up perfectly I've had to make a couple trips to Home Depot for some longer screws, and one of the support brackets broke at the weld during install. I ended up using some chunks of hot water heater tubing as spacers in the brackets since they don't tighten fully around the crash bar. I had a gap between the metal U bracket to my bar. But once shimming that in there it seem to be a lot more stable.
Since it'd likely cost me half the purchase price to ship them back I'm just going to roll with it and see how I like them. Maybe they'll grow on me. I did have to buy 1/2" spacers because the Pioneer 6900Pros that I installed the magnet was too big and they wouldn't seat fully in the pod.
I love being unique and having that extra size, but the one thing I didn't factor in was the clearance for the shift lever and the rear brake. It's still fully operational but I question if I had the downshift or stop quickly if my toe would catch the pod or not. I've only put on a few miles with them and still getting used to it, so could all be in my head. So we'll see long-term if I just get used to it.
Here are a couple pics. I don't have the grills on yet because I'm going to wrap the six by nines in waterproof cloth then install the grills, but they should give you an idea on looks and fit.
Any questions, ask away. Hopefully my trial and error can help some folks out, just like others have helped me.
Man I hope you can make the MnG in June cause I've never heard 6x9s down low like that. There's a little pride that goes along with needing to mod some stuff to make it work.

My dad actually put a set off those on his 99 ultra. He has Polk mm692 down there run off a tn4.900 amp and Infiniti kappas in his fairing. Sounds pretty damn good. The speakers really compliment each other and those polks actually hit pretty hard. He had some struggles doing the install also but is very happy with the results. Nice work
