That's my only point G, the safe play aspect. Ur industry knowledge on this headroom topic is absolutely correct in that 2x is a great target!!!! My only concerns are the variables in play on our various individual setups in that u have clean HU signal, quality amp in it power wheelhouse pushing clean power, quality music, HPF set properly, ohms matched, etc.... In many cases it takes additional equipment to make sure ur gonna continue to get that clean signal all the way up thru the peaks of the tunes.

So totally agree with ur guidance as an expert, but us cave men should probably stick to the smaller sandbox until we have the individual knowledge to clearly identify the culprits that blow shix up.

Good discussion Brotha!!!!

602's are in and Volume is awesome, however... I'm not getting a lot of treble or bass change from minimum to maximum when adjusted. There is some benefit over the Titans, but it's not greatly audible. This is with music on an Ipod Touch, connected by cable. I get more response , not much, with the tuner on a local radio station. I may be expecting too much response, as I remember the mention of a 6.5 speaker and the frequency response of a mid range / mid bass speaker. I'm hoping that I'm giving you a logical description here. Additionally, I just had my son listen and he seems to think it was fine, so it may be I'm an old , deaf fart...

1.20.1 currently... Last version update in October of 2016 screwed my system up, the dealer took it back to this. I had to factory reset the system. Can the Line Leveler inhibit treble/ bass adjustment ? My LL is at the default settings. I can hear changes in Bass/Treble settings when moving them from Left to Right. It's not a lot of change...

That update is fine. Do you notice reduced bass/treble response with the bike running also?

The poor bass/treble response is do to the programing of the radio to help protect the crappy stock speakers. So are the different .bin files used when the bike is on ACC and Running. Reducing the HPF settings on the BT LL would let more low FQ pass through. In doing so this also changes the gain level. This can be done using a DDM but it's a tedious process. Your best bet is to contact Mike at BT and have him assist you if you feel the need for a little more bass.

Did you do a radio reset after your updates? That can have an effect.
Here is a link to help.

Just did the reset, and will work on the software update. Seems to be better ... I'm hoping to be road testing tomorrow. Talked to Mike at BT, he concurred with the reset.

I've lost one of the JL 5x7 rear speakers that I bought from someone on here, speaker is blown, he tried to get a return through Amazon, no go, I'm working on talking to JL about them, if no help there, then,,, 6x9's in the lids here I come! I run mine full tilt most times,, maybe I need to go a different amp where I can adjust gains? I know BT is awesome, but not "Controllable" in that way....

Road Test was great today ... Ample volume at 85 on the highway. At a parking lot, I listened to a RGU which had a dealer install of the Boom Audio system. Speakers had the separate Tweeters with 6.5 mid range/ woofers. This system sounded very full with bass/ mids / highs, it had good volume as well. I couldn't match the bass, but volume was no problem. He had 2 amps, 1Front, 1 Rear. Definitely sounded good, But, I'm happy with mine. I'm running at 2/3 of bass elevation, 1/2 treble. It was amazing how much wind noise drowned out the volume though. A recommendation to others, listen to other systems ... See what it sounds like real world if you can. I tried to record mine, my iphone didn't do it justice... Many Thanks to the Audio Vets. I appreciate what I've learned here...

Expectations bro. You can't compare two 6.5 coax speakers to a four speaker system with 5x7, 6x9, or 8's in the bags or lids. Even if it's a (properly functioning) Boom setup. If you want bass/thump think lids or bag speakers and a four channel amp, or a second amp. And as you mentioned most of this goes away as speed increases.

Good to see you are happy with what you have installed yourself.
