Default 2016 Street Glide Special Audio

First I want to thank everyone on this forum and all the other ones I have utilized and gained info from over the last few years. My question is after reading through all the info in the audio section I had decided to go with the BT two speaker system but is 900 dollars really the best price on two speakers and an amp? I'm use to building entire car systems that weren't show stoppers but pretty good systems and only spent $500-600 total.
I want to spend wisely but the pricing for bike audio seems to be little extreme. Any thoughts or ideas appreciated.

Thanks,

What kind of budget do you want to stick around? Highway rider or back roads?

Thanks,
with the motorcycle focused companies Hogtunes, JM, etc you are paying for the ease of plug and play. Quality speakers cost what they cost regardless of application. High end Focals, Hertz amplifiers, etc are expensive regardless where they are going - bike or car. Thing with a bike being out in the open you need speakers that can get loud and take power, and you need an amp that can deliver power in a small package....none of that is cheap. Still, There's a lot you can do with a reasonable budget.

Thanks,
You can do much better with your $900 bucks for a two speaker system. Biketronics offers a lifetime warranty on their products which is factored into the cost and rightfully so. That said. You're also paying for protection against failure which is cool if you plan on keeping the same speakers for a lifetime.

Thanks everyone for the comments. I ride mainly back roads at 60-70mph,music is all over the place with rock, country, and even a little pop once in a while. When I started looking into the audio gear I was expecting to spend around 600 for the speakers and amp but you all do bring up some very good points.I have no thoughts of adding more speakers as I use my bags to actually pack stuff in and I like the stripped down look of not having the lower pods, so the batwing is the only location. When doing changes and upgrades on other bikes I try to live by the rule of doing it once and moving on to the next upgrade so I want to do it right the first time. I will keep reading and hopefully make a decision before summer. Thanks again.

I know this sounds like a broken record from me but man I really don't think u can go wrong with the DD Audio AW6.5 and either a 25mm, 28mm or 30mm tweet. (Leaning more towards the 28mm as that is what my ears like).

I am an audio addict and since I put those suckers on my sled, for the first time I'm not looking to improve upon them. Just damn well rounded, loud and crisp sounding speaks.

BT355 Line Levelers
JL 280/4 amp bridged

Chainsaw math = $750ish. (Tweet selection will be the driving force in budget estimate variations).

Done and on to the next project!!!

Disclaimer: The above shix w the 28 mm tweet is currently on my sled.

T's recommendation is spot on! I'm also a huge fan of the AW6.5's with the AT28 tweets and I've had about every speaker you can name in my fairing at one time or another. The AW's are perfect for the fairing. They are loud and very warm speakers with nice thump on the bottom end. The JL MHX 280/4 T mentioned is also excellent bridged to those speakers!! That's definitely the route I would go with a $900 budget!!
