I would like to upgrade my stock fairing speakers and was wondering if someone makes an amplified speaker to avoid having to install an amp?I see Cycle sound did but are going out of business. Thanks in advance.
Yes. For a number of reasons but sound quality and reliability would be the top 2 reasons. Lots of really good systems available for all reasonable budgets, but take your time and get damn good 80 mph tunes the one and only time u pop the hood for audio.
Simple to install with the support of the gang on this forum as well.
Review some of these recent threads and u will get inspired.
The install doesn't look tough as it is time consuming but it would be a nice project while it's still winter.Hogtunes seem to put a nice kit together and I also hear some are using marine speaker also.I've figured out to make sure the ohms match and the radio needs a reflash.I have a custom that's a bikers choice dealer so I will check out some of there kits. Thanks for the advice.Diffenitly a learning curve.
you wouldn't be doing much to just change out the speakers. With amps like the Cerwin Vega B52, SS PN1000D, and JL MX280/4 out there, there really isn't any reason not to put an amp in and do it right.
Would I notice a difference if I just changed the speakers?
As T and Matt stated. An amp is must have! No Hog tunes. No Kits and definitely no amplified speakers! You got a 2016 RGS Bro. Those systems you're thinking about are only gonna bring down the value of your bike. Save your pennies and do it right the first time. Need to stick $1000 - 1200 bucks in that bike to do it right. Otherwise you're wasting your time. We'll be here when you're ready.

I really appreciate everyone's input.I think I will leave it alone for now.Or until I'm ready to do it right. Thanks again.

I agree on the stock system. The sound is AWFUL..... The first thing I did was get a taller windshield and that helped a little.
I found a used pair of Boom Stage I faring speakers and that was an improvement. The sound was even better when coupled with the my cellular via Bluetooth. I crank the volume all the way with no distortion. However, it is lacking power. An amplifier would help tremendously........
