Default 2016 Street Glide Audio Upgrade

I have a 2016 SGS with the stock Boom system and I am ready to upgrade the front speakers and add some rears. I recently ordered a detachable king tour pak which I just picked up from the dealer. I am leaning toward adding the tour pak speakers initially and probably do the lids later. The problem I keep running into is that all of the tour pak pods I see list for up to 2013 so my question is do the same pods (such as the Hogtunes) fit the 2014 or am I looking over something? I am planning to go with Diamond Audio amp and speakers throughout.

Also, if anyone has a suggestion of where I should get the wiring harness for both the front speakers as well as to run to the rears I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

Lee

13 and down and 14+ tour paks have different curves to them so not all the pods will work. Stock Harley 14+ pods are around $250 if i remember right and will need a spacer to fit a 6.5" speaker (spacer is around $80ish?). E-Glide Goodies make a tour pak pod for the 14+ tour paks that will take a 6.5" speaker without a spacer ring and they run around $300.

So with that said, a quick dealer flash for 4 speakers 0 amps (stock Ultra flash) a couple BT 355 line levelers, $80ish a piece, will get ya goin. You can get by without the Ultra flash and using only 1 BT355, but you will lose the ability to fade front to rear, not a huge deal to most.

So with that in mind, what will be your budget from there?

Most people that will do fairing, tour pak, and lids end up using 2 amps so keep that in mind as well.

It would be ideal to stay under 1k but with upgrading the front and adding a pair of tears but I don't think thats going to be realistic. I'll spend what it takes within reason. The weather here sucks this week and I have a day off on Friday with nothing to do so if nothing else I would like to get any harness wires, etc.. here quick so I can install them no later than Friday. I have a lot of ton of car audio experience but none on motorcycles.

Equipment wise I am leaning toward but not decided completely on a Diamond Audio Micro4v2 and Hxm65 speakers for the front and rear pods. I have not looked at adding the line levelers yet but I need to include those. The JL Audio Fix 86 has come recommended to me also.

At at a later time (or in a few weeks if I can't wait), I want to add the HXM8 to the lids and would likely use the Micro2v2 to power it. I need recommendations on lids for 8"s that match up best with the factory look also.

Only 2 lids for 8" on the Rushmore bikes so that makes it easy lol. Twisted 8s or the Voodoo 8.8 with spacer to make an 8" speaker work.

I have used the JL Fix 86 briefly and with it being slightly better than the BT355 line levelers, it's hard to pay $200+ more over what you get from the BT line levelers. A lot of modification goes into making the Fix86 fit in the Rushmore fairing.

Shouldn't really need any wire harnesses other than an 8 gauge amp kit. Amp wise you can go with something like a $150 Soundstream PN4.1000D to $600 Arc Moto. The 4v2 will be a little light on power unless you use a more efficient pro audio set up. For $1k get ahold of Bagger Audio Lab, they are a forum sponser and long timeforum contributor. Haze will take care of you.

I use J & M rokker on mines and sounds great, but its going to cost you over $1900 but everything is plug and play. Don't have to splice or modify any wiring. For doing front and rear speaker you will need to have the dealer flash the platform.

Also just came back from Daytona and saw out there I believe it was kicker who have a speaker kit for the front and rear with a removable woofer that you put inside your back and it sounded bad ***. When ever you need your bag you remove a plug and pull out the woofer case. Looks neat and you have that extra bass

Please stay away from J&M, way over priced for what you get.

I wanna see that setup but I can't find it online. Are you sure it was kicker?

Since your in Miami, just for S&G's, you oughta drop by our buddies place at Bagger Audio Lab and let him show you what a $1900 system really sounds like.

I put the AD CX62 6.5 speakers in my rear speaker pods (2016 Ultra so stock 14+ rear pods) with a 1/2 spacer I bought on ebay for $10 a pair. Bought the hogtunes metal grills too ($40). And has been stated, talk to Haze, great dude to work with.
