Default Budget minded build started

The weather up here in Vancouver is finally getting better so it's time to get off my butt and start what should have been completed a month ago.

First I need to thank the guys who I have pestered with PM's. Thank you gent .
Second I need to thank the guys who have offered to help with the build. Too bad you guys are not here. But a big thank you.

Day one : nothing to new. Pulled outer fairing, removed old h/u and speakers. Had one hell of a time with the top two screws on the speakers. Actually thought I was going to break the inner fairing. Probably some never seize will be used when going back together.
New head unit is a small format digital media receiver. Pioneer MVH-X390BT. probably made a mistake with this one. If it doesn't work out I will use it on another project. Because it's a small format these new style of head unit maybe worth looking into for multi amp set ups.

I test fitted a few things yesterday. Have just one question about the Scosche speaker adapters. Somewhere in the back of my mind I remember in another thread about the screw at the bottom hole being too long. So I left it loose for now. I searched quickly this morning but couldn't find any info. Could someone chime in if they know.
Thank you

You don't use the lower inside screw regardless of which speaker adapter you use. You'll run a screw through the fairing before you know it. Just so we're on the same page that's for attaching the adapter to the fairing.

Correct the 6.5" speaker adapter lower screw to attach it to the inner fairing. So just leave it out and only use the top two ?

Only leave out the lower inside screw on each adapter. That leaves 3 screws to hold it in place. The upper 2 and the lower outside on each side.

Thanks. I will look when I get home from work. I thought that there was only three screw holes? Maybe I have the adapter orientation wrong ?

Yes Sir- If you're gonna go Pioneer go with the Pioneer DEH-X8800BHS or even better the Pioneer DEH-80PRS. The 8800 has a 4v preamp and the PRS has a 5V preamp. Much nicer units!

Ya GANNICUS. I knew I made a mistake when I purchased it. But it's an easy re-re after I get things done. So if it disappoints it will be replaced and I will use it on my daughter car

Quick question. Is it ok to tie power and speaker wire together? Just wondering about interference.

Frowned upon. Keep them as far away from each other as possible, considering this is a game of inches.
