Default 03 Electra glide stereo

I have an 03 Electra glide. I was looking into buying a new stereo with Bluetooth. I looked at j&p and they want $600. I am wondering if I can install a different type of car stereo and whether or not it will fit, and can I make it compatible with my handlebar controls? Thanks in advance.

You can install just about any single din unit in your bike but you'll have to buy the proper install kit. The hand controls will also work with just about any head unit but you will have to buy the "steering wheel" control module. I believe most installers use Scoshe (sp?) brand. Whatever you decide DO NOT use Retro Radio brand.

check out Bagger Audio Lab. a vendor here on the forum with intense knowlege of bike audio. if your looking for a simple upgrade that is plug and play, Aquatic AV has a good weather resistant unit that starts under $300. the bluetooth feature works flawlessly for me

Why do you say that about the retro radio?

2 buddies installed them in their bikes and had nothing but trouble out of them...switched to Scoshe and everything works flawlessly. I guess it may be unfair to say not to use the brand based on 2 experiences but 2/2 is 100% in my book. Just trying to save the OP some aggravation.

Default 2003 Ultra Classic auxiliary input for radio.

I'm using a Bluetooth receiver to the auxiliary input on my 2003 ultra classic and I'm only getting sound on the left channel. When I put on some headphones into the Blue unit I get both sides working. I'm wondering if auxiliary input only activate the left side or is there something wrong with the stereo unit? Also the wire with a quarter inch plug on each side is brand new so I don't think it's that.
