Default HT Wet Head Speaker kit

I have lurked and researched in these forum pages so much that I felt it only right to give back a little on a subject that there is not much info on.

There has not been a lot of info on the Hog Tunes lower speaker kit for wet heads. I have seen posts of people that have modified to use non-wet head pods but nothing solid on the HT kit.

I wanted lower speakers but I really didn't want to modify the cooling system as some have done, so I made a cheap bid on an open-box HT kit and won so I figured what the heck.

The pods fit about as good as expected...not as good as stock but better than the eBay/Mutazu pods I had on the 2010.

It is very tight confines behind these pods and HT mounts the speaker on the inside of the pod which doesn't help the depth at all.

I knocked out the metal grill and an Infinity Kappa fits from the outside without a problem. (Pics below)

I don't know what other speakers will fit but I'm happy I can make something out of this.

Now I need to decide what speaks to run and also I have to pick up some grills.

Thanks for posting this. I've wanted to get a set for one of my bikes but haven't. Please update the thread when you get them hooked up.
Do you think you can get a deeper/bigger magnet (speaker) in there

So I pulled a BT6.5 out of the rear and it will 'fit' (to the definition of the word) with a 1/2" spacer. But as you can see in the pic, you would need a slim spacer to make it look ok, and that is if you even like the spacer look.

This is against the reservoir bottle inside.

Mounted with the 1/2" spacer, but you can see how much the space overlaps the outside edge

Ok straight on.

Yea I'm seeing a spacer will look odd for a deeper mount speaker. I appreciate you doing that, answers my question. I'd still like to know your thoughts on them after your up and running.

I wonder if Alpine SPR-60s would fit there without a spacer? They drop into the rear pods without spacers and I've seen posts where BikeTronics recommends them for the rear speakers on an Ultra Limited.

The Alpines seem to sound pretty good in the rear factory pod on my bike. I would think running both the fairing and lowers in parallel would be a bit louder, as that would create a 2 ohm load, vs. the 4 ohm load of the BT7P1s alone.
