I've been a long time lurker, finally joined and now I'm seeking my first round of help. I currently have a 2014 SG with the factory audio system. Looking to upgrade, initially thought about going with the BT Titan Amp/Speaker kit until I began reading through this section and now I have no idea what to do. Here is what I do know: Want to keep the stock HU for now, just putting in fairing speakers for now, possibly lowers at some point but not in the near future. I love music, listen to it almost all day so I want something that's going to be clear and would appreciate some decent bass. I listen to mainly country, rock and classic rock. Seems I should definitely pick up a BT line leveler and their speaker brackets, but as far as speakers, amp and wiring (kit), that is where I need some help. Estimated budget, roughly a grand, but there is some tolerance there. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
hey jmm, welcome to the forum. How important is it to you that you retain your FM reception? Class D amps have a way of destroying FM reception and so if losing FM is a non issue because you use another music source, then you open yourself up to a much larger selection of amps. Worry not, all is not lost should you decide that FM is vital. The selection to choose from is just a bit smaller.
Get settled with your amp and speakers first. It sounds like you're looking for an excellent sounding speaker and as such, you will find the most happiness in a component setup rather than a coax speaker. Depending on your timeline, DD AW 6.5 woofer and the AT28 tweeter is the top of the list for the audio section when it comes to accurate and full music reproduction. Those however are on backorder until July. I will hold off on any amp recommendation until you chime in about FM. You will get lots of replies here and it's great that you came here in the planning phase. Hear everyone out but at the end of the day, you will be best served by reaching out to Bagger Audio Lab and let Alex set you up with the most cost effective solution that will satisfy your goals. He's all over this forum and has been the backbone of a good majority of our setups.
You're correct on the LL and Brackets! good work on paying attention as you browsed!

Appreciate the input, I saw on another members post about the DD AW 6.5 woofer and tweeter recommendation and being on back order. I don't have much experience installing a component speaker set-up, is this something that will still be doable myself? I've swapped out many HU's and coax speakers in trucks/cars but never tackled the component sets. Should have mentioned it, but losing FM reception is no problem. 99.9% of the time I'm playing music through my phone so that won't be an issue.
Regarding the capability to complete this install, including the coax setup, I will say that yes, for sure you can do this. If you head down that route there is an infinite supply of support and guidance, multiple threads, and quite possibly another forum member that lives nearby. Don't sweat the install.

Good deal. So would you recommend holding out for the DD AW 6.5 woofer and the AT28 tweeter?
You know, I'm the worst at being patient so if someone said, "just hold off a couple months" I wouldn't have been able to do it. That said, that combo is tried and true. Everything you described in what you're looking for, this setup excels in. There's surely other speakers out there and everyone's ears hear things differently but if you can wait it out with DD, you won't be disappointed.

I guess that's why I'm asking, I really don't want to wait but if its worth the wait I suppose I could could get through it lol. What amp would you recommend for these if losing FM isn't a concern of mine?
I've run them off a BT4180 and I didn't like the sound.
I ran them bridged from a JL 280/4 and they sounded phenomenal
I'm currently running them bridged off a Ground Zero Micro Four and they're ridiculous.
I know others have bridged a D4 to them and been very happy. The sweet spot seems to be for these guys to get a real 160-170 watts. The BT and the JL amp didn't harm my reception. The GZ didn't interfere but it was mounted on the side bracket. The HDP4 that I have mounted above the radio currently definitely toasts FM reception.
Others with the AWs will chime in here. There's quite a few people running them but I think they're all out riding.
