HP you are allowing frequencies higher than your setpoint to pass through and block the lower ones. LP you are allowing frequencies lower than your setpoint to pass through and block the higher ones.

Typically with full range speakers you will use HP only. I'm not saying you can't try the LP on the Pioneers, because ink the end of only matters if it sounds good to you.

Do you have access to a 1Khz test tone? This could help everything asking with a $10 DMM just to get you in the ballpark.

Plenty of good advice here so far. Would also recommend disconnecting the rears until you have the front dialed in. When you got the front nailed down disconnect them and dial in the rear. If you don't have access to one, I've got a cheapo DMM still in the package that I bought for my son a couple years ago but he ended up getting a good one. Just send me a PM with your address and you're welcome to it.

Run both sets of those speaks in full pass.

Turn the gains on both amps to zero.
Set fade bass treble to zero.
Set HU volume to 3 or 4 bars from full blast.
Play your favorite song. ( No Michael Bolton or Kenny G)
Go to D4 gains and slowly turn those up until u get really clean loud sound. If u get ANY distortion back the gains down.
Mark those gains on the amp w a pencil.
Turn them back to zero.
Go to JL 280/4.
Volume at 3 or 4 from full blast.
Still no Kenny G!!!
Slowly bring the gains up to the same loud clean sound level u used for the front based on your ears.
An important note: Don't overthink this!! Ur ears will tell u exactly what is good clean loud sound and I bet the front and rear will be within a couple decibels just based on ear instinct.
When done turn the HU volume down to normal level.
Reset the D4 gains to the pencil mark.
Now u can fine tune the gains ever so slightly to get the proper fade so that the front or rear does not overpower the other. Sit in the Captains seat when making these fine tune adjustments.
Also fine tune with bass and treb on HU. Prob 3 bars right for bass and in the middle for treb.
That's as simple as it gets.
I know ur bike is inside so I did not mention to do all this with the engine running but when u get it all back together, doing this with the engine running is the way to go.

Phase 2 of this will be using a DMM to verify how ur ears work but I bet u will be damn close so we will attack that after u get down the road a bit. Just don't allow any distortion to come out of your Speaks!!!!
