Had some time to kill before I head into work for the night and thought I'd see how close my ear was for a flat signal. Granted this is just a free phone app using the phone mic, I figured what the hell lol. I isolated each set of speakers (fairing, lids, bags) and ran some pink noise through the bike. The screen shot is from the app when I was running my fairing. The second graph is from the Arc PSM to show what was happy to my ear, never made any changes from what I saw from the RTA app. I'm not saying you have to do this, just bored and why not mess around while it's raining.
Graph legend
Red: fairing
Green: lids
Blue: bags. And I'll guarantee that your graph will look different
Thing with RTA's is that's a good start to develop a baseline but Music is dynamic NOT flat so why would you want your output to be flat.
Just messing around. I didn't adjust anything by what it was saying. I was just curious what the graph would show from my tuning by ear. And it's just a phone app using the phone mic. I doubt it's accurate, just something to mess with.
Mainly got the idea from car audio tuning. Find a flat baseline and adjust to your liking from there.
