Arc PSM for dummies
If you guys are willing to discuss what does what and how tos, I can keep this first post updated with the info. Who knows when Arc will or if they will release a manual for us dummies. LOL
I don't want this to turn into a you're all too dumb to use this, so please keep the information helpful.
Frequencies explained: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/audio...l#post15908548
I'll start with some basic questions:
1. Amp:
a. Do you need to set your amp gains first? Yes
b. Do you set your amp to low, full or high pass? Recommended full pass
c. Do you adjust the crossovers on the amp or use the PSM to control that? PSM
2. PSM:
a. What is the output tab for?
b. What is gain for? Gain determines how much of a certain frequency is added or removed. Gain is the vertical axis on the EQ graph, and the taller it is, the more of that frequency is being added
c. What is the freq for? This determines which frequency the band affects, or in most cases where the Q determines that a range of frequencies will be affected, where the center of the frequency range is
d. What is the Q for? Q determines how wide or narrow the EQ band is. A setting of 0 will pretty well encompass the entire spectrum (depending on your gain) while a setting of 10 will only affect a very small range of frequencies
e. What are you guys using as starting Freqs?
f. How do you determine your input voltage?
g. What's better, high or low level inputs? General consensus so far is high level inputs using the supplied Arc harness reduces noise floor.
h. My speakers thump when the PSM starts. On the setup tab, play around with the turn on delay

I've also run the PSM both ways...low level and hi level. I've found that for my ear, high level inputs to the PSM serve me better. In fact I found a pretty significant difference between the two setups and I prefer the high level inputs to the DSP.

The Arc Harness really cut the floor noise to a minimum. It's still there, but I suspect that may be because I have the Ultra Flash and my rear outputs may be causing the noise even though fade is all the way forward.
Definite improvement in sound quality though with the Arc Harness. I couldn't get it to sound right with the LOC or the high level without the Arc.
This is without bike running though. Going to ride today to see how it sounds and make adjustments if needed.
