Here's a picture of how they are now the amp is only thing that has changed. I will just be replacing the subs in their location now, not putting them in the lids. Sorry for not specifying.
Way too much airspace. As said prior with no enclosure, the subs are basically worthless. Also if you switch out to good midbass, you need a adapter ring that fits flush on inside the bag at the cutout. That will space the speaker to not contact the grill, and give the best dispersion of sound.
That's what I'm planning to do. You have any suggestions besides the DD w8
I think Matt eluded to this a bit earlier but since u are not going to benefit tremendously from a speaker or sub mounted facing the wheel inside the bag while riding, what are u looking to accomplish. Just improved bass and sub bass while parked? Low midrange & midrange? Full range?

big question is do you plan to add speaker lids or not. If not you want a speaker that will get some vocals back there. Also what amp is pushing them if I missed it earlier in the post? So hard to recommend a specific speaker without a game plan. Bagger Audio Lab will be a great asset to help plan this out and get the best output from you choice of where you want to go forward from here.

T.
I know I'm not going to get really low but mid-range and low mid is what I'd like to have. And yes just while parked.
