Anyone have experienced suggestion for a good 8" mid bass driver? It has been suggested to use those instead of the subs I have in the bags now. I just dont have any experience with them and don't want to keep going in circles.
What speaker do you have in the bags now, what amp is powering it, what else is on the bike, what is the purpose of the speaker you're looking for....volume or lowest punching bass possible?

I shouldve thought to add that but yes I need more bass. My highs scream but bass cant keep up. Everything is powered by Nesa 5 channel td-55, fairing is DB drive es-9 6.5 component, each bag has a DD audio vo-b3 horn and audiopipe tsvr8 8" subwoofer. What I thought about doing was replacing the subs with the DD vo-w8 but I have 0 experience with mid bass drivers

You have subs and need more bass? That's very strange.
The way they're installed just isn't as efficient as it should be because they aren't in an enclosure. I've been told the right midbass speaker will be more efficient because free air.
I'm not sure how the DD W8s will sound in the lids, but I really like them in the bags so far. I have good bass and always looking for more lol. Use headphones or ear buds or surround sound to hear the bass/lows I'm getting from the W8 in the bags, hope it helps.

The OP didn't specify if they are in the lids or in the bags. That would be helpful to know. JL 880s? Diamond HXM 8s? Couple full range speaks that sound damn nice. Seems like a good option for lids. I guess we need to know where these things are going.
Yes a mid bass driver is much more forgiving for correct air space and enclosure where a sub is not. The W8's are legit inside a bag, although they don't play really low like a sub, they are significantly louder.
