I know from reading this forum constantly, you, among a few others, are a HD stereo guru...Help me. I held it up there, tried to see how it would fit. It didn't look like it would. Came back, researched...almost all said no go...only found one post where someone said it did, couldn't find a write up or pics though.
Thanks, I appreciate any assistance you would lend.
That PPI is about the same size as the Hertz HDP4. You have to shave the back end of the gauges a little and push it flush with the gauges. It will sick out about an inch from your HU. When you see that inch. That's when know the fairing will go back on. As I was saying. It's a tight fit like the Soundstream 1000D. But it will fit. PPI also has a ION i1000.4 that's more powerful than the phantom and fits the fairing like a glove. Brother to the Soundstream PN4.1000D. Basically the same amp.
Thanks for the suggestions. I ordered the Ion and will decide where to go. I now have 3 options. See if I can make the 900.4 fit, the 2 B52's, or the Ion.
On a side note...has anyone taken the 2 ends off the 900.4 ? I saw in a post from way back Haze had this amp, initially wouldn't fit, and thought about removing the 2 end pieces. That would downsize the 900.4 from 10 -1/2" to under 9-1/4... ***I tried. It looked like the end pieces may have been designed to protect or improve the aesthetics of the amp. Two screws on either end, looked like they would pop right off; they didn't. I could probably get them off if I really wanted to, but there are too many other options at this time. I don't want to F it up, it will probably be for sale soon.
In any regard. I appreciate the assistance !
