Just seems crazy that wanting a little better sound quality and a little more volume cost.... minimum of $500
Do it right and spend the $$$ the first time your pocket will be better off. A lot of us here do A lot of testing of different combinations of speakers, amps and headunits to help out fellow members with proven combinations that work. In the long run saving others headaches and money.
You can take this with the grain of salt or how ever you want but researching and asking question is the best solution before you purchase anything.
Take the input given here figure out the products you are looking at post them and you may get a thumbs up or a correction on your choices.

pick out a head unit and carriage
add a handlebar interface
pick out some speakers
new price your probly at $350 already
check this forums classified for deals on great used stuff
if you stick $350 into it without an amp... you will be very disappointed
even the highly regarded and affordable kappa infinity speakers want at least 150 watts
they work great with budget amps such as cerwin vega and soundstream
I second the go to for sale section almost all items where yesterdays best thing most folks start out mild then go wild .very little play time on most of it.use search on your amp questions if no info that's a good reason to skip it .would be hard if not impossible for there to be good amp out there that has not been tried stick to tried and true.2cts
