throwing this out there for advice from the experts. concidering 8" lids and 10" bag speaks, not concerned with brand names at this point, more the point of air space competition inside the bags... running speakers outta phase to compensate for air space??? port bags for more air? seperate with baffle and port individually?? these will not be all weather or travelling saddle bags, more of an experimental type setup
10's will be mids, not subs
thanks in advance

Contemplating the same thing myself right now. From what I'm finding an 8 in the lid and an 8 in the bag don't seem to fight each other too bad, but add a 10 or quad 8s in the bag and you'll want to isolate the lid speaker from the bag.

so after isolating... is porting recommended to the outside to allow more air movement?
primarily for the 10's? both?
To get the right low end sound the bag must be sealed. A cone speaker will be a weak point and not only allow air to pass it also will destroy the 8 fairly quickly. Best 2 options back there are a sealed back 8 or a compression driver with waveguide and a pair of horns.

So an 8" on the lid and 8" inside the bag does not represents the same issue?

you can do an 8 and an 8 since they both have the same cone area and in theory move the same amount of air where it won't cancel....but it does get tricky tuning because the two speakers are really doing two different things being those areas.
