It will depend on which speakers you go with and budget.
For a 2 speaker fairing only setup:
Pro audio if you are only worried about loud and clear as a bell at any speed
DD AW/tweeter if you want a little thump with good sound quality, but at highway speeds you could end up turning the volume up to your max working things hard.

Thanks for the advise... I am still thinking the speaker thing over but what amp for either application ?????
If u have committed to a 2 speaker only system, that JL 400 will do well, but the list is endless and will change based on the exact speakers u select. JL 500/4 is also a good amp for a 2 speaker setup.

Yes, yes i did. Off a bridged D4 with B3 super tweeters.
Excellent!!! Just never heard them described that way before. 240w off that D4 should have been way more than enough to perform really damn good at highway speeds. In fact, I would categorize the AW with the B3 & the right watts as one of the top possible setups going for the guys willing to pull gauges or drill holes for the horns.

Apples to apples 60+ mph the the pro audio in my setup can be at a volume of 8/14 (14 is max before distortion) and be clean and clear where as the AWs may need to be around 12/14. Just generally harder on the amp and speakers.
Still hard to beat the AW setup for an all around 2 speaker fairing only setup. Just one of those things if you don't care about having a fuller sound on back roads and around town and just want clean and clear on the highway, it's hard to beat a pro audio setup in the fairing, but you have to know it is what it is going in and not expect it to make your gauges vibrate. You'll feel the snare drum vs the bass drum type of thing.
I run a JL XD400/x with Hertz Hsk165xls. It sounds good and i can blast it loud and clear at highway speeds. But sometimes i do find myself wanting more at highway speed.
Im adding 6x9s to the lids and would love to sell the Hertz to try out some pro audio set ups.
