I will never, ever, ever do a batwing fairing without BT brackets again. I should have got these before I even started.

I believe eve I added the correct additional bolt that I read about. Used a 3/4” steel spacer plus a washer. Might have been able to get an inch in there but this seemed right. I didn’t even touch the amp or HU settings. Still sounds great. It’s probably just me and the fact that I haven’t ridden it since last weekend but it seems louder. Either way, I’m happy with it. Mostly. Though now I’m looking at some MM6502. I would of course change the amp out, too. Anybody care to talk to me into or out of it? I’m still thinking about lowers and/or lids. Not sure I want to block my airflow with lowers since the majority of the year it’s warm/hot here but I’m also not sure about lids either.

If I haven’t said it yet, I hate you all. Haha.

Put the lowers on (vented), you'll thank me later. Then do lids if you still need more so save up on that hate, you're just getting your toes wet.

Which vented lowers? I have only briefly looked at various lowers, been trying to avoid going there. If/when I go with lowers should I ditch the MPX in the fairing? I’ve read that the 62.11i do good in the fairing. One thing I should specify is that I am NOT concerned with parking lot sound. I ride my bike, as much as possible. So sound clarity and volume at highway speed is #1. I know when I have that the parking lot sound will be good enough, too.

Take your time with what you have and figure out what you like or don't like about it first. It's easier to upgrade when you've figured out what's missing.

More sound and lows. I could honestly run these and get them tuned just right and be happy. Sadly, I’m not one to leave anything alone. Garrett

There is a set of liquid cooled lowers for sale on the forum.

All they need is some matching paint and add the hardware.

Kaboom, done and you got lowers too!!

I put lowers on my '14 Electra Glide Ultra (non liquid cooled) and it made a marked difference, even with the BT4180 amp running all six speakers. You won't be disappointed.

And you are correct, the only way to do audio upgrade on a bat wing Rushmore is to add the BT brackets. They are worth every penny!!!

Still not sure on the setup. I’m almost positive I’m going to add lowers. But for now she’s pretty damn loud. How does it sound to those of you in the know? This is with brackets, crossovers untouched, HU flat.

Sounds good! If you’re looking for more loudness lowers seem to be the ticket. If you want maximum airflow get vented lowers and then buy the perforated screens for lowers like what’s on the wetheads. I think you’ll have to use the HD lowers though which are more expensive but quality is great.

Before spending the $$$ on lowers I’d let those Hertz break in. They will loosen up and sound better.

Will do. The fairing vibrates now with the brackets. The vent rattles. Going to see what dynamat does then reevaluate again. Also going to try to adjust crossovers. My friend that I worked on his truck today used to install stereos so I’m gonna see if he can help a little. Thanks again, 08.

Time to change the speakers. Was thinking maybe the polk MM6502 or the kappa 62.11i. I read that the kappa will do better in the fairing when paired with lowers. I’m not planning on adding lowers right away but it will be happening in the next couple months probably. If not either of these 2 speakers what do y’all recommend? I’ll put a speaker in the fairing right now that I can use in the lower later if it will sound better in the fairing alone right now. Going to stick with the DD amp bridged at 150w right now but I think I might switch to the SS pn1000 next.
