We all tried em and sold em. Matter of fact I tried em twice. Not warm speakers and very little bass. Not too many guys run those anymore. They are power hungry and way too expensive not to have any bass.
Have you tried the mpx 690.3's? I tried to take a vid but my old iPhone 5 just doesn't do it justice. I will tell you that I didn't have one side lid locked down and with a 5# speaker hanging on it and started hearing a rattle from that side only to have the lid vibrate on the bottom end from all the bass I was getting. I first thought that the speaker had come loose but after I locked the lid down the vibration noise stopped. I will try to get a better vid but these speakers have a lot of bass even when set on neutral on the head unit. I will admit this is my first venture with sled 6x9's and I have not heard many other 6x9's so I cant compare these to others so I will take special attention and ask when I see other sled running rear 6x9's. To me these have a ton of bass and vibrate my whole bags when they hit the low end.

I will agree as Gann stated with the hertz HCX/MPX 690.3 are very power hungry and lack the lower frequency response.
I have had/heard and used said speaker and compared to the pioneer pro 6900, DD VO6X9. The 2 speakers play a lot lower in frequencies and get more volume with less power.
Then you figure in the cost of the hertz at around $400 MSRP you get TONS more bang for the buck with the 2 others mentioned.

Well damn. And I thought I got a hell of a deal on these mpx 6x9 at $260. Now I'm thinking about some different speakers. I got a lot of listening and research to do. lol

My Infinity Kappas cracked at the frame as well. And they were 62.11i, the ones everybody runs. Contact Harman. They replaced mine under warranty and I bought them in 2014. They have a 3yr mfg warranty but they honored mine even after 3 1/2 yrs! They don't make the 62.11i anymore so they sent me the new 62IX. I should get them sometime this week. They are a great company with great service. They respond to your emails within 24hrs.
