Default Polyfil vs Dynamat

I've been reading that polyfil wrapped around fairing speakers is a nice improvement in the sound, but how do I do it? How much do I use? How does it work? Is there a fire risk from polyfil? An installer used Dynamat in the fairing on my last bike with a nice stereo. Which do you like better --- polyfil or Dynamat?

Two different things. Polyfil is to make the speaker seem like its in a larger enclosure. Dynamat is sound deadening. If you are looking for deeper tighter bass I would do Fastrings and Dynamat.

Just out of curiousity, how would fast rings work on a fairing?

Very easily, stick the center part of the fastrings baffle in the inner part of the HD speaker enclosure(if equipped).
Depending on your fairing mount the fastring first, then the speaker over top of it (like a gasket) or mount the ring to the outer of the speaker.

Still don’t see how that’s going to make a difference.

If the foam provides a backstop aka stabilizes that fairing enclosure then go with what u have.
