Can some one school me on compression drivers with wave guides. Saw a setup with 8s. so whats the deal with them.

I'm also interested in these...why are they used and what are their advantages..I've seen them on competition bikes!

What we refer to has Horns.....Hertz ST25, DD B3's are compression loaded tweeter. A compression driver normally plays a wider freq range and the waveguide determines not only how the sound is dispersed (wide or narrow) but also the freq curve. On bikes I don't see any use for them on a daily rider average joe set up. They get VERY loud, with very little power in mid to upper freqs so if you don't have some serious low end bass behind it to keep up then they will drown out everything on your bike. We use them quite a bit on builds that we put 10's in the bags.
