Speaker pods
#11
I thought i would do an update, the xfmt speaker pods are **** fit but function the speaker are installed upside down to fit without a spacer, some silicone gasket maker and a repaint will make them usable. The HERTZ SV 165.1's in the lowers filled out the sound nice and the biketronics lower fairing wiring harness was well made and priced right for my laziness. So now a question, are the cvo grills the only ones that will fit without mods or a spacer?

I just purchased the boom grills for 6.5 lower fairing speaker pods. Part #76000324/ the rep say they will fit any 6.5 lower fairing pods. When I looked into this the description is for rear pods. I was told the CVO grill part number 76000065 was superseded by this number?? upon looking online I can find both. not sure which one works best.

So the hertz speakers will not fit in the XFMT pod, they are not deep enough and the magnet is hitting the back of the box and one side of the speaker is always pushing away from the mounting point if the other side is flush. I have oem boxes and parts on order but was hoping to get a ride in this weekend, anyone had any luck with spacers in the lowers to get them to fit.

UNIT they are different pre and post '14 make sure you get pre 14 for your bike, that said is what i have seen is a larger and generally cheaper choice for pre 14. The what to go with is stay away from xfmt, the guys on here have recommend a lot fairing factory and advan black but i have no experence with either.
